It’s here! My holiday EP, the first project I’ve created using the Megurine Luka vocal synth plugin by Crypton Future Media, Inc. I’m not going to say a lot about it right now. Instead, I invite you to give it a listen and let me know what you think! I will likely give a bit more behind-the-scenes depending on feedback over the next couple of months. Would you like to know how I tune the vocal synth plug-in? What kinds of synths were used? How I came to certain arrangements? I shared a link on Facebook. As I said in the post, rather than tagging a whole bunch of people, I’m going to share it at various times over the next few days so more people will see it.
But, I tried to follow you through Artist’s Union and neither Facebook or SoundCloud let me log in. The error message indicated the Facebook app isn’t set up and I don’t rememeber what the problem with Sound Cloud was. I don’t have a YouTube or Spotify account, so I didn’t try those. It may be that I have something set up on my computer that’s blocking it, but I don’t know what that would be. I thought you ought to know because you’re losing potential business if the problem is at their end.

I don’t know what the situation with SoundCloud/The Artist Union would be, but I haven’t released this particular EP on either of those services, and I don’t think DistroKid does either. In fact, I will likely stick with just Bandcamp and the services that DistroKid pushes to (iTunes, Amazon, GooglePlay, Spotify, etc.) from here on, as both SoundCloud and The Artist Union seem to be more or less on the decline at this point.
You don’t need a YouTube account in order to watch videos on YouTube or share them, however at this point there won’t be anything there anyway. I had to abort and re-upload the tracks to DistroKid because of restrictions on the number of languages you can include in a single release (basically, everything has to be in one language, so I can’t have things like Luka’s name in Japanese characters, or the word ‘noel’ spelled with the appropriate accent mark over the ‘e’.) It will be a few days before distribution is finalized, so in the meantime, the Bandcamp links are all that will be available. That said, I prefer that people use Bandcamp anyway, as it is a dramatically better service for both the audience and artist unless you want to stream via specific devices that don’t support it (i.e. PS4, which will only stream via Spotify, for example).
I appreciate you sharing these links as they become available, and I will make an effort to keep you up to date as distribution continues and new links arrive!
